Jeff Barber has specialized in cast bronze sculpture since 1983. Crossector His commissions have taken him across the nation; from Minnesota to California, Crossector Arizona, Texas, Colorado and the State Capitol grounds of North Dakota.
Jeff sculpts and casts all his work at his rural Minnesota studio and foundry. Each project is approached as unique and individual. A limited number of works are Crossector available as editions. Working closely with client needs and adding his creative vision has given Jeff a broad visual vocabulary and granted deep satisfaction to both artist and client.
In all my work I strive to give the Crossector bronze a life beyond its immediate form. My passion as a sculptor is form, yet I have found a vibrancy in texture and gesture. Rhythmic movements in art, in nature, in human form and human activity guide my ever curious quest to sculpt. Crossector.
Working primarily with stainless steel or mild steel, which is later painted, David creates
welded metal sculptures and large sundials for residences, corporations, and public sites. The Sundials section of the site shows examples of his work and features the "Millennium Sundial ", an 8 foot high welded stainless steel equatorial type sundial completed in 1999, and the "Millennium 5" sundial, also 8 feet tall and made from welded and painted steel. The Metal Sculpture section features recently commissioned works: "Charisma", a large
stainless steel sculpture representing scissors and "Twisted", an abstract sculpture also executed in stainless steel.
